GUIDING PRINCIPLES

The guiding principles that govern the way the Logan Lake Community Forest works is reflected by the deeply held values that have defined us as a community since the 1970’s.  Our guiding principles are defined as:

Benefits to the Land and Surrounding Communities

A stable source of revenue invested in the land and in local communities.

Respectful Relationships

Acknowledgement of a land base that is the territory of indigenous communities that have been stewards of this land since time immemorial.  And in support of a broad range of resource uses, resources, values and traditions, through mutual understanding, respect and trust.

Accountability
and Responsibility

Accountable and responsible to the community of Logan Lake and through our practices to indigenous communities, the broader public, and the land.

Adaptability and Innovation

Recognizing dynamic forest, land and climate within the context of social and political change, we need to be adaptive, flexible and innovative in our planning and practices.

Sustainable Resource Management

In support of our cultural, ecological, economic and social goals, including reconciliation, utilization, innovation, adaptation and resilience.

Safety

Ensuring our staff, contracts and partners make it home safe.  Endorsing the BC Forest Safety Council SAFE Certification and proactive alignment with WorkSafe BC requirements to ensure a safe and healthy workplace for everyone.
