RECREATION / TRAILS

The Logan Lake Community Forest has partnered with the District of Logan Lake in the development of a Trails Strategy, identifying strategic priorities to guide the management and development of trails in the Logan Lake area over the next 15 years. The LLCF works with and supports:

  • the Highland Valley Outdoor Association in their management of the Logan Lake trails system north of the community.

  • the Logan Lake ATV Club trail planning and trail enhancements through funding applications, project management and coordination.

  • the District of Logan Lake in trail planning and establishment, including funding to support the establishment of the Mimi Falls Trail.

Trails work across the LLCF and the surrounding lands is completed by a range of local and First Nations contractors, and our trails are much safer and environmentally sustainable as a result.

Forestry activities are planned and conducted in a manner that will not detract from the long-term recreational enjoyment of community forest users. Recreation resources are conserved to ensure that the objectives for recreation sites, trails and interpretive forest sites are adhered to.

There is an extensive network of designated and non-designated recreational trails within the Logan Lake Community Forest, including hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing, as well as an expansive off-road vehicle (ORV) trail network. All trails and recreation sites are considered in our development and planning activities.
