Logan Lake Community Forest launches refreshed brand, website, and film showcasing local stewardship, wildfire risk reduction, and community benefits.
Logan Lake, B.C. – The Logan Lake Community Forest (LLCF) has unveiled a refreshed brand, website, and film that highlight its commitment to the stewardship of local forests, through indigenous collaboration, supporting what makes the communities of the Logan Lake area strong: the people, the land, and our future.
The new brand was developed through a collaborative process with input from people across multiple sectors and the community. The refreshed look was inspired by the natural cycles that shape healthy ecosystems, incorporating elements of trees, water, fire, and trails to reflect the interconnected nature of forest management, recreation, and conservation.
“Our refreshed brand better reflects who we are today and where we are going,” shared Randy Spyksma, General Manager of the LLCF. “It is a visual highlight of our commitment to responsible forest stewardship while supporting the long-term sustainability of our community.”
LLCF has also launched a redesigned website that provides clear information about forest management activities, current projects, and the local benefits of community forestry in the Logan Lake area. For those visiting the site who may not be familiar with forestry, the updated site both improves the user’s experience and invites residents and partners to learn more about the community forest and to engage with its work.
The launch of the site also coincides with the release of a new film in collaboration with the BC Community Forest Association (BCCFA). The film provides a look at the planning and treatment activities of the LLCF specific to wildfire risk reduction, and the enhancement of trails and wildlife habitat, and is part of a broader provincial-wide storytelling initiative showcasing community forests across British Columbia.
“Our film speaks to the heart of what we do as a community forest and allows us to share this work through storytelling,” said Spyksma. “Community forestry is not just about logging; it’s about collaborating and investing in a sustainable future for the land, forests and our communities. We hope this film raises awareness about the power of community-driven forest stewardship and how it can make a real difference.”
The BC Community Forest Association said that the film is a part of a broader effort to highlight the importance of locally managed forests across the province.
“When local people are involved in decisions about their community and their local forest, the outcomes are more sustainable and aligned with the community’s values and needs,” noted Jennifer Gunter, Executive Director of the BCCFA. “The film series helps demonstrate how community-based decision-making is transforming the way forests are managed in Logan Lake and throughout British Columbia.”
