The Logan Lake Community Forest (LLCF) was pleased to welcome community members to our Annual Open House on September 21.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to stop by, connect with our team, ask questions and learn more about the work happening within the Community Forest.

The Open House is an important opportunity for us to connect directly with the community, share information about current and upcoming projects, and hear from the people who live, work and recreate in and around the communities of the Logan Lake area.

Taking the Conversation into the Forest

As part of the evening, community members joined LLCF General Manager Randy Spyksma for a community forest walk, providing an opportunity to see the landscape up close and talk about forest health, management and the changes the area has experienced over time.

One particularly memorable stop was a surviving lodgepole pine. The tree was one of only a few in the area that survived the mountain pine beetle outbreak, earning it a well-deserved hug from Randy!

Moments like this help tell the story of our forests in a very tangible way. They also provide an opportunity to see firsthand why thoughtful forest management, resilience and long-term planning continue to be so important.

Thank you to everyone who joined the walk, asked questions and shared in the conversation.

LLCF on CBC Daybreak Kamloops

Ahead of the Open House, Logan Lake Community Forest also had the opportunity to join CBC Daybreak Kamloops to talk about the event and the work taking place in the Community Forest.

Thank you to CBC Daybreak Kamloops for helping us share our story and inviting listeners to learn more about the Community Forest.

The LLCF interview begins at approximately 11:58.

Most importantly, thank you to everyone who came out to our Open House. We enjoyed connecting with you and look forward to continuing the conversation.

Thank you!
