Join the Logan Lake Community Forest for an interactive afternoon exploring how fire can play an important role in ecosystem management and fuel reduction treatments around Logan Lake.


This community event will introduce participants to the first prescribed burn planned within the community forest — a collaborative initiative involving First Nations, BC Wildfire Service, and the District of Logan Lake.


DETAILS

  • Wednesday, June 10


  • 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM (Rain or Shine)


  • Meet at 1 PM by the big mining truck


  • Limited to 16 participants | Ages 18+



Participants will travel to the site and learn firsthand about:


  1. Prescribed burning practices


  2. Fuel reduction treatments


  3. Collaborative wildfire resiliency efforts


  4. Restoring fire to the landscape responsibly



PLEASE NOTE


  • Uneven terrain and walking required


  • Hard hats and high-vis vests provided if needed


  • Wear sturdy footwear and weather-appropriate clothing


  • Bring water, sunscreen, and bug spray
